American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI) is dedicated to unifying, developing and promoting the American Bucking Bull breed and its industry through DNA preservation and the documentation of family heritage through pedigree records. The ABBI DNA registry is approaching the 200,000 mark and is the world’s third largest cattle registry of any type.
ABBI also educates its members on the breeding, care and welfare of bucking bulls. ABBI has developed a program of competitive events where the athleticism of the American Bucking Bull can be demonstrated, appreciated and publicly rewarded. In 2017, ABBI will pay out over $2.5 million in prize money and the top bull in Las Vegas will win $200,000.
ABBI provides an environment conducive for the breeding, raising, training and cultivation of the highest caliber of bovine athletes. Many of these animals go on to
perform in the highest level of professional bull riding- the PBR Built Ford Tough Series and PBR Touring Pro events. ABBI’s primary objective is to enhance the value and integrity of the American Bucking Bull breed for owners, breeders and investors. It also strives to educate the public, fans and media about everything bucking bull related.
ABBI Youth Programs
The bucking bull industry is about more than high scores and winning big with your bull. We believe the connections you make and the lessons you learn from participating in bucking bull events instill important values and build character among our youngest members. We have many ways of being involved in our youth programs, the most popular being our Junior Futurity Program. Kids age 9-18 flank their own bulls in our Junior Futurity division. Unlike other organizations, we require all of our junior participants to be hands-on (exceptions are made for members with special needs or limitations, and juniors are allowed to assist each other). There is a season-long Futurity race that culminates with the Junior Finals. Over $75,000 was paid out in prize money in 2016 and the top animals of both the regular season and the Finals took home saddles, trophies, championship buckles, hunts and other prizes.
